Iodine and tellurium abundances in chondritic meteorites were determined by neutron activation analysis. For bronzite and hypersthene chondrites (6 analyses) iodine abundances from 37 to 104 ppb were found; for enstatite and carbonaceous chondrites (9 analyses), the range is from 127 to 560 ppb. The tellurium abundances range from 0.42 to 0.73 ppm and 1.23 to 3.4 ppm respectively. I129–Xe129 decay intervals, measured from the cessation of nucleosynthesis, were calculated for the meteorites Richardton (119?6+9m.y.) and Indarch (97?10+17m.y.) , using the continuous nucleosynthesis model. The significance of these results is discussed.
